Frederick Chidester, AARS Immediate Past President, 2016-2017


Frederick Chidester is the Line Superintendent for West of Hudson and Tenant Railroads for MTA Metro-North Railroad.  MTA Metro-North is a commuter railroad that has Operations in the states of New York and Connecticut with over 775 miles of track and 121 stations distributed in seven counties in New York State and two counties in the state of Connecticut and operating more than 700 trains daily.

Prior to being a Line Superintendent, Mr. Chidester was District Superintendent for Operations in various places on Metro-North (New Haven, Stamford and Croton on Hudson Lines).  Mr. Chidester was a Trainmaster of Capital Projects and a Rail Traffic Controller.

Mr. Chidester has been a member of the American Association of Railroad Superintendents since 1998 and on the Board of Directors since 2012.  He is a member of the Executive Committee for the New England Railroad Club.

Mr. Chidester did his Undergraduate Studies at Louisiana State University.
