The AARS offers four types of membership:  Active, Associate, Lifetime and Supplier member.

Active members include those employed by the railroad industry in railroads, operating companies, transit companies and regulatory agencies.  Those applying for Management Trainee/Intern membership are in this membership type.

Associate members include individual consultants or small consulting firms with less than 10 employees , publishers, and educational institutions.  Those applying for Student Membership are in this membership category.

Supplier membership is for suppliers to industry who wish to register several representatives as members of the organization and this membership includes an exhibit space and registration for company representative at the AARS Annual Meeting, June 20-22, 2022 in Chicago!

Life members are those who are fully retired (not consulting or otherwise employed in the industry) and have been a member of AARS for at least 10 years prior to retirement.
